IDEAL Principle #3: AI & Digitally Enhanced Teaching

AI & Digitally Enhanced Teaching

"AI does not replace human intelligence; it scales it. The goal is not to consume, but to co-create."

AI as a Cognitive Partner

In higher education, AI integration is not just a technological update, but a pedagogical paradigm shift.

While traditional educational approaches often view technology as a presentation tool or data storage unit, the IDEAL model positions artificial intelligence as a "Cognitive Partner". This approach aims to achieve "AI-Augmented Human Excellence" by combining the unique features of human intelligence—such as creativity, ethical reasoning, and emotional depth—with AI's data processing, scalability, and speed.

Our graduates are stepping into a world where AI is an integral part of workflows. Isolating them from these tools means sending them unprepared into the future. Therefore, the IMU AI Office accepts "Prompt Engineering" as a fundamental academic literacy of the 21st century. Our goal is to ensure students use these tools not just to consume content, but to solve complex problems and produce new knowledge (Co-creation).

Strategic Application Areas

24/7 AI Tutors

Thanks to chatbots trained with course content (RAG-based), every student is provided with a personal assistant that gives instant feedback at their own pace.

Data Analysis Power

It enables researchers who do not know coding, such as social scientists, to analyze massive data sets through AI and produce meaningful results.

Academic Integrity and Ethics

Including AI in teaching processes brings academic integrity discussions. However, the IDEAL strategy argues that the solution is not banning, but "Process-Oriented Assessment". Students are asked to document not only the final product but also the history of interaction with AI, critical decisions made, and how they revised AI outputs to reach that product. This maximizes the student's critical thinking skills while preserving academic integrity.

psychology Good Example: Social Sciences

Political Science / Data Mining

Students analyze thousands of pages of parliamentary records using AI tools. Without knowing coding, they perform complex operations like "sentiment analysis" and "theme identification" to produce an academic paper.

rocket_launch IDIUL & AI Acceleration

In the IDIUL model, AI acts as an "Accelerator" that speeds up academic production (Empowered) while maintaining ethical standards.

Consumption → Collaboration → Production
